The gap between knowing and doing
We live in a world where information comes to you without asking.
Videos. Articles. Threads. Podcasts. Misinformation too. Short form content is now mainstream on TikTok and YouTube. Everyone is learning something, all the time.
So knowing is no longer the problem.
I listened to an HBR podcast recently on the future of McKinsey in the age of AI disruption. It confirmed something I had been thinking about. Even at McKinsey, the breakthrough is no longer insight but changing incentives so people can actually execute and deliver outcomes.
The bottleneck has shifted from information to action. Andrej Karpathy put it simply: Agency > Intelligence.
When intelligence gets commoditized (and it already has), agency is everything.
