Hi, I'm Tobi.

I am from Nigeria, where I grew up curious about everything and stubborn about nothing in particular. I studied computer science for my bachelor's, then somehow found myself doing a PhD in biomedical engineering at UIChicago, building imaging systems to help detect eye diseases early. The path wasn't linear, but looking back, the dots connect.

I write because it helps me think. Sometimes about science, sometimes about life, sometimes about things I am still figuring out. I started a Feynman series where I try to explain complex ideas simply inspired by the man who believed if you can't explain it to a child, you don't really understand it.

I pay attention to people [how they move, what they don't say, what makes them light up]. Relationships matter more to me than intelligence. Kindness more than cleverness.

When I am not writing, you will find me reading, mentoring first-gen students, or having long conversations about life with people I respect. I also collect quotes. things people say that stay with me. You might find them useful, or maybe not.
